Why does the word "Text" stay on my Canvas on my iPad or iPhone?

When you tap on the Text icon on an iPhone or iPad, you are prompted to select a font and then a box appears on your screen with the placeholder "Text" in it, like this:

As soon as you see this, you can begin typing and the placeholder "Text" will disappear and be replaced with your own text. For example, in the image below, I typed "Jennifer."

But if you were to tap away from the box you see in the first image, it will leave the "Text" placeholder on your screen. And if you tapped again, it might look something like this:

This is what it looks like when "Text" is still on the screen but some other text is now on top of it. To fix this, just drag the text layer you want out of the way, then tap on "Text" and click the "X" to delete it, as shown here.
