Why is my Weld button grayed out?

Welding in Cricut Design Space is a great tool and very useful to combine shapes and text. If the Weld button is not active (grayed out) when attempting to weld, here are a few things to consider:

2. Assure that there are at least two layers or objects selected. Select multiple layers or objects by holding down the Shift key on the keyboard and clicking on the layers or objects to select them.

3.   Check to make sure your objects are overlapping or intersecting to weld them together as one image.
